For more than two decades, Dr. David Kohl worked in the classroom on the Virginia Tech campus as a professor of agricultural finance and small business management and entrepreneurship in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics. He retired from teaching in 2003. Now, as professor emeritus he has traveled 8 million miles hosting more than 6,000 workshops and seminars for various agricultural groups. He has published four books and 1,200 articles on financial and business-related topics in various publications. Throughout his career, he has received 11 major teaching awards and is a two-time recipient of the American Agricultural Economics Association’s Outstanding Teaching Award. He is also one of the top-rated instructors in agricultural finance and banking, training more than 1,000 lenders using an online and face-to-face educational approach.
Will Turner is the President of Seeding Growth, a sales and leadership development consulting company that serves Farm Credit Associations. His work revolves around helping individuals and Associations break through their barriers to reach their potential. Prior to starting Seeding Growth, Will was President and Founder of Dancing Elephants Achievement Group, which he started in 2001. Will has worked with hundreds of organizations to create positive change and growth. He has worked actively with Farm Credit for the past decade, and is a frequent presenter and facilitator for retreats, workshops and training programs. He is also the creator of Farm Credit University’s Mastering Sales Magnetism course.
Alicia Morris is the Managing Director of Farm Credit University for AgFirst Farm Credit Bank. She works from Blacksburg, Va., where she is also Administrative VP of AgriVisions, LLC, Dr. David Kohl’s consulting company. Alicia received her B.S. in agricultural and applied economics with a minor in dairy science in 2002, and her M.S. in agricultural finance in 2004 from Virginia Tech. FCU grew out of Alicia’s graduate degree project, in which she studied the cost effectiveness of online versus instructor-led training. She has been directly involved in eLearning development and day-to-day operations of FCU since its inception.
Ronnie has been with Farm Credit for more than 25 years, and has worked in various capacities at both the Association and funding bank levels. In his current role as Vice President Relationship Lending at AgFirst Farm Credit Bank in Columbia, SC, he serves as Relationship Manager for Farm Credit of the Virginias, AgChoice Farm Credit, and Farm Credit of Florida. He manages the AgFirst Credit Training and Farm Credit University functions, and has worked closely with FCU since its inception. Ronnie is a graduate of Francis Marion University, the South Carolina Bankers School at USC, and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU.
Allison Beverly is the Administrative Assistant for the AgFirst Farm Credit Bank Credit and Lending Departments, and Farm Credit University. Allison’s duties include handling enrollments, general inquiries and monitoring of trainee progress for the Launch Pad, Lifestyle Lender, Commercial Ag Lender, Mastering Sales Magnetism and Ag Biz Planner classes. Allison’s experience includes working in the market research and legal fields in Scotland, London and the Cayman Islands.
